JEROME LANE ROAD CLOSURE & DETOUR

• WHAT ? – Jerome lane will be temporarily closed to thru traffic to allow for the safe repair of a sewer line underneath the roadway

• WHEN ? – Starting Monday morning, October 21, 2024, at 7:00 am and continuing to beclosed until the repair is complete, scheduled for approximately November 30, 2024

WHERE ? – Barricades will be installed as shown on the map above, and thru traffic will be routed around the work area via Paris Avenue, Harvest Avenue, and Wesley Avenue. Local access will still be allowed for the school district bus lot entrance and the residents who live along the closed portion of Jerome Lane, and for emergency vehicles.

• WHY ? – The sewer in this area is part of the main trunkline running thru the City, collecting all local tributary sewers. It is a large line, approximately 20 feet deep, and requires a large area of excavation to safely make the repair, including the complete width of Jerome Lane.

• WHO ? – The City has contracted with Hanks Excavating to perform the work, as part of a larger project funded by a grant from the Illinois EPA
