Flood Preparedness Workshops | St. Louis USACE 2024

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Louis District will be hosting Flood Preparedness Workshops with drainage and levee district and emergency management officials in-person at five (5) locations in February and March 2024. Dates and locations are listed below. If you are not able to attend the one in your local area, please feel free to join at one of the other locations as similar topics will be presented at each. In addition, the 29 February workshop will be accessible via WEBEX (instructions enclosed). All Workshops will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

• 15 February, Lincoln County R-III School District Administration Building, 951 West College St., Troy, Missouri 63379 

• 21 February, Jacksonville Visitor and Convention Bureau, 310 E. State St. Jacksonville, Illinois 62650 

• 27 February, Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway St., Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701 

• 29 February, National Great Rivers Museum, 1 Locks and Dam Way, Alton, Illinois 62002, and via WEBEX (instructions enclosed) 

• 11 March, University of Illinois Extension Office, 901 Illinois Ave, Waterloo, Illinois 62298 

The workshop format is organized around several topics; the National Weather Service (NWS) will present the Spring flood outlook and the St. Louis District will discuss levee safety, flood response and recovery, low water, and other programs of relevance to sponsors. In addition, State, Regional, County, and Local emergency management agencies are expected to participate in the workshops. 

This workshop is intended to be an open forum for discussion by all participants. Participants are encouraged to discuss operation and maintenance issues, flood recovery, overall flood preparedness, or any other related topics important to you.
